Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Homemade Cranberry Sauce - a million times better than the canned stuff. Can make ahead and refrigerate until ready to serve. Got the recipe from my childhood neighbor. Cranberries, apples, orange, cinnamon, sugar, pecans, ginger, cloves and orange juice. Hands-down the BEST cranberry sauce I've ever eaten. A MUST for your holiday meal! #cranberrysauce #holidaysidedish
This Homemade Cranberry Sauce is unlike any other I've eaten. It is loaded with cranberries, apples, oranges, pecans, ginger and cinnamon. It not only tastes delicious, it smells AMAZING!!! The house smelled like the holidays when I was making this Homemade Cranberry Sauce. The original recipe included raisins. Chicken Legs isn't a raisin fan, so I usually leave them out. If you want to add raisins, you need a half of a cup.
This recipe for Homemade Cranberry Sauce came from my childhood next door neighbor. We lived next to the nicest couple, The Livingston's. Mr. Livingston was a WWII veteran, he was at D-Day. Mrs. Livingston was the perfect Southern lady; always put together and extremely nice.
Every year at the holidays, Mrs. Livingston would invite us over to see their Christmas tree, and she gave my brother and me a Christmas ornament. I still have those ornaments on my tree today! Mrs. Livingston was also a great cook! She shared many delicious treats and recipes with our family. This Homemade Cranberry Sauce is one of our favorites!
You will want to make this Homemade Cranberry Sauce at least a day in advance. It needs time to cool off and set up. This is a MILLION times better than the canned stuff!! Once you taste this Homemade Cranberry Sauce, it will become a holiday tradition in your house too!
This Homemade Cranberry Sauce would also make a great homemade hostess gift for any parties you might be attending this month or a great teacher gift! Put the sauce in a mason jar with a pretty ribbon - viola! Easy and delicious gift!
