Easy House Salad Recipe
Everyone loves a house salad from their favorite restaurant. This particular house salad recipe comes from The Village Tavern. A Plain Chicken reader recently sent me the recipe. They published their house salad in the newspaper years ago. I read over the ingredients and thought it sounded easy and delicious. Salad with tomatoes, red onion, mushrooms, blue cheese, bacon, and a quick homemade vinegarette. This salad is great as a side or for a quick lunch or dinner! How to Make House Salad Dressing
This Village Tavern House Salad is super easy to make. Start with tossing together some salad mix, mushrooms, red onion, tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles, and bacon. Next, make the vinegarette. Place cider vinegar, minced garlic, salt, pepper, sugar, and some blended oil in a blender. Pulse a few times until it is combined. Pour some of the salad dressing over the salad mix and enjoy! You can make the salad dressing ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator. I like to store the dressing in a mason jar and shake it up before using it. This recipe uses blended oil. If you can't find blended oil, simply use a combination of olive oil and canola oil.
This House Salad is great like it is, but it is equally delicious topped with some grilled chicken or grilled steak. It is a great way to use up any leftovers!
