So simple and they taste AMAZING!! Just dump everything in the slow cooker and let it work its magic! Fresh green beans, red onion, lemon, tomatoes, garlic, chicken broth, salt and pepper. We make a batch on Sunday and eat the green beans all week with lunch and dinner. Great for cookouts, potlucks, tailgating and the holidays!
Green beans are a favorite in our house. These Slow Cooker Southern Green Beans are no exception. I especially love that I can just throw everything in the slow cooker and we have green beans for the week. This recipe makes a lot of green beans, especially for just two people. I love to make a batch on Sunday and portion the beans out for the week. We eat these Slow Cooker Southern Green Beans for lunch and dinner throughout the week.
These Slow Cooker Southern Green Beans are super easy to make. The hardest part about making this recipe is slicing the onion! Everything else is just dump it in the slow cooker and walk away. As I said, this makes a lot of green beans. These are great for any upcoming cookouts, potlucks or tailgate parties. The green beans taste great hot or at room temperature.

Slow Cooker Southern Green Beans

INGREDIENTS:
- 2 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 1 (14.5-oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- salt and pepper, to taste
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours.
- Serve hot or at room temperature.
