I made this pot roast for a football party and it was a huge hit. I immediately renamed the recipe Tailgate Pot Roast! Beef roast slow cooked in chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce and Coke. It's like a tangy homemade BBQ sauce. YUM! Perfect for feeding a hungry crowd.
I served the Tailgate Pot Roast on top of slider buns. I just let everyone grab a bun and serve themselves right out of the slow cooker. SO easy! Feel free to top the sliders with pickles and mustard.
As I mentioned, this Tailgate Pot Roast uses a bottle of chili sauce. I used Heinz Chili Sauce that in near the ketchup. It is basically zesty ketchup. I also use regular Coke, not my beloved Diet Coke. I used the real thing. I think you need the sugar in the Coke to make the sauce taste great.
This Tailgate Pot Roast is great for any meal, not just tailgating. We've made this for dinner and served it over mashed potatoes or cheesy grits. YUM! The leftovers taste great! You can even freeze the leftover for a quick meal later.

ingredients:
- 1 (4-lb) beef chuck roast
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 1 (12-oz) jar chili sauce
- 1 (12-oz) can cola
- 3 Tbsp dried minced onion
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
instructions:
- Season roast with salt and pepper. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear roast on all sides. Place roast in 6-qt slow cooker.
- Add remaining ingredients to slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours.
- Shred roast with two forks.
- Serve shredded roast on slider buns.
